Antivirus recommendation

Hello, I had been suspecting for a long time that there might be a virus on my PC but I was ignoring it. Finally, I decided to run a virus scan and installed Malwarebytes, which detected a trojan. I know of two antivirus programs, Malwarebytes and Kaspersky, and I am considering getting a subscription for one of them. Which one should I choose and what are some recommendations? Are there any other reliable antivirus programs available, even if they are paid and can be purchased on an annual basis anyway?
