Comparison of Liferay vs WordPress

Friends asked me to research Liferay for the corporate intranet portal at the company. I am wondering why we are not using WordPress instead in case any issues arise. I heard Liferay can integrate with SAP software, but I am not sure if WordPress can do the same. Does anyone have experience with Liferay and know its advantages over WordPress?
