Could there be a virus on my computer?

Hello, strange things have been happening on my computer since yesterday. My touchpad has inexplicably stopped working properly, currently only responding with a left click function when I touch it. Even as I am writing this, random windows are opening by themselves, tabs are opening as if I pressed the Windows key, and the start menu has opened a few times. I haven't done anything suspicious, I haven't downloaded or installed anything from the internet, I have only downloaded PDF files in the last month. Do you think this could be a virus or could it be a hardware issue? The strange part is that the fonts have changed in the task manager. Should I reset the computer or what do you recommend I do?
