1. Keep Yourself and Your Information Secure. Move away from the thought of "It won't happen to me." Protect yourself and your information. If you are vulnerable to cyber criminals' attacks, you may also be putting your family, friends, and organization at risk. 2. Check Your Passwords. Make sure your passwords are strong and include a variety of characters. Change your passwords at regular intervals. Do not use the same password for different site memberships. Do not share your passwords with anyone. 3. Be Cautious with Email Attachments. Do not open unexpected email attachments immediately. If you have doubts about their authenticity, call the sender to verify. Always be vigilant against attacks that may come through email attachments. 4. Stay Away from Public Wi-Fi. Avoid using insecure or public Wi-Fi networks for personal tasks such as online shopping, medical appointments, registrations, or banking. 5. Protect Your Webcam. Use a piece of opaque tape or a webcam cover to close your webcam, especially when not in use. Cyber criminals can use webcams to obtain various information about individuals, so do not make their job easier. 6. Keep Your Browsers Up to Date. Keep your internet browsers and related extensions up to date. Make sure you are using the latest versions. 7. Secure Your Network. Use a strong password for your home Wi-Fi network.
