Does changing the site content and interface affect AdSense?

Hello, I had a blog site that was approved by AdSense, allowing me to display advertisements. After about a month, I completely transformed the site into a gaming forum while still running ads. I didn't receive any error messages from Google. My question to you is: Did the site continue to display ads because it still complied with AdSense policies after the change, or does Google allow ads to run without checking if a site has changed after approval? I'm considering trying this tactic on a site that hasn't been approved yet. Do you think it would work? ????
