How Important is Social Bookmarking?

I am considering sharing my articles on at least 10 bookmarking sites carefully with detailed descriptions, including high-quality social media sites like Reddit. I am willing to dedicate serious effort to this, and I don't see any issue with it. However, my concern is whether Social Bookmarking is a worthwhile method. The articles I read about sharing our published articles on our site through Social Bookmarking were all written in a vague manner, as if they were just for the sake of having an article. I would greatly appreciate any insights you may have on this topic.
