How many GB of RAM should be given to a virtual machine?

I set up Ubuntu 24.04 via VBox with 6 GB of RAM and 2 processors allocated. It doesn't give the exact feel of the normal setup, but I believe there is slight lag, is this normal? The processor is 12th gen Intel(R) Core(tm) i5-1235u, 1300 MHz, 10 cores, 12 logical processors. The available memory is 32.0 GB (usable: 31.8 GB) in a 64-bit system architecture.
