How to set up a Minecraft server?

Is there anyone who knows how servers like Truva Network are set up? I want to try setting up a box PvP server myself, where I would like to have Survival mode. However, I have no knowledge of coding or how to do it. I didn't want to set it up from Aternos because it's too laggy. If anyone knows how to set up a server, can they help me?
