I will set up WP, but where exactly should I place it?

I couldn't upload files via CPanel. Therefore, I downloaded and installed FTP. However, while CPanel shows only 3 files, there are quite a few more visible on FTP. Why did this happen, and also where should I upload and install these WP files? [Insert image links here]
