Some time ago, it was very common to include referral links anywhere and for anything, but that created saturation and made Google become stricter.
A while back, Google limited the reach of links displayed with
target="_blank"
It turns out that adding rel="noopener noreferrer" and leaving it
... target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" ...
is considered a cleaner practice, although I am still figuring out what exactly that rule implies and whether one should include rel="noopener noreferrer" in links even if they are not meant to be opened in another tab. I don't know what you all know or think about this...
