Office program is running slow on VMware virtual machine.

In the virtual Windows 10 environment set up on VMware, when I open a Word document, the graphics card kicks in. How can I make the system utilize the processor's graphics chipset as needed instead?
In the virtual system, I have allocated 3 out of the 6 cores of the 9600k processor and 8 GB out of the total 16 GB RAM.
