PHP Website Database and Files on Different Servers.

Hello everyone, I've been thinking about something. For example, we created a website using PHP and MySQL, and the files and the database on this site have become too large. The server is no longer able to handle it. Instead of adding a disk to the server, if we want to purchase a second or even a third server to share the database and files on these servers, what kind of steps do we need to take? Should this process be done on the software side or on the server side? What would be the necessary procedures to follow?
