Hello everyone, I am a user of the "Katana 17 B12VGK-401XTR" model laptop. I have been using virtual servers with VMware Workstation for about 1.5 years, engaging in FARM activities in various games to generate additional income for myself.
My current hardware specifications are as follows:
- CPU: 12th Gen Intel Core i7-12650H Processor with 10 cores (6 P-cores + 4 E-cores), Max Turbo Frequency 4.7 GHz
- Discrete Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU with up to 1980MHz Boost Clock and 105W Maximum Graphics Power, Video Memory: 8 GB GDDR6
- Memory: 16GB*2, DDR5-4800
- Storage: 1TB NVMe SSD PCI-e Gen4. I can currently open 14 virtual servers smoothly on this device, but it seems the CPU does not allow for more. In stressful situations, I can experience instant blue screen errors where the device shuts down and restarts. I am considering both software and hardware suggestions to prevent this issue, optimize performance, and increase productivity further.
In my performance analysis, I am aware that I am primarily bottlenecked by the CPU, which concerns me. However, for the past 6-7 months, this device has not given me any issues. I use the ZALMAN ZM - NS2000 to cool the device, which effectively prevents overheating.
Therefore, I am open to your comments if you have any software (programs, CPU reducer applications) or hardware recommendations. My motherboard is MS-17L5, and based on my research, I believe I can replace the current CPU with an Intel Core i9 - 13900H. Is this possible? Would you recommend it? How and where can I obtain this part, and what impact would it have on performance? I look forward to your valuable feedback and assistance. Feel free to provide suggestions for other hardware changes such as RAM and SSD.
