One day, your screen suddenly went black and your monitor displayed "No Signal." After restarting your PC, you noticed that the screen froze a lot on the desktop. When you tried to open AMD Adrenalin, you encountered this error: "The version of AMD Radeon Software you have launched is not compatible with your currently installed AMD Graphics Driver."
As an RX 6600 user, this issue was frustrating, and I couldn't find a guide for the second method in Turkish due to this lack. Because of this, I prepared a guide.
Temporary Solution
You uninstalled and reinstalled the driver, but the same thing happened again after 2 weeks. The reason for this is that Windows forces you to install its known driver. The solution is to go to Device Manager > Display Adapters > AMD Graphics Card - right-click > Properties > select the driver tab at the top > choose "Roll Back Driver."
Spoiler Alert: If you do not want to do this, it will be much more cumbersome.
Run the AMD Cleanup Utility from here and remove your corrupted driver. You can also use DDU if you prefer.
Download the Auto-Detect software from here to automatically find and download your driver, or manually find and download your graphics card driver from below.
When you install the driver, the issue should be temporarily resolved.
Permanent Solution
Method 1:
Disabling automatic driver updates on Windows 10 can be frustrating. Your first findings may recommend you to turn off Driver Updates from System Properties. I must say that this method generally does not work.
Method 2:
Do not worry, I have found a method that works, but this method only applies to Windows Pro and Enterprise versions. It is not available in Home versions.
Type "Edit Group Policy" instead of search in Windows and click on it.
Go to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components and at the bottom, you will see Windows Update.
Then click on "Include driver updates with Windows Updates," which will appear as "Not Configured" on your end.
Select "Enabled" instead of "Not Configured" on the top left and click Apply.
Your update screen will look like this:
Method 3:
Type "regedit" instead of search and follow the path "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DriverSearching."
Double-click on SearchOrderConfig and if the displayed value is 1, change it to 0 and click OK.
Method 4:
Download the application from here, and select "Hide updates."
If you see any AMD-related update, check the box and click Next. I did not proceed further because I did not see any updates related to AMD.
