SQL Server is giving error: 53

I am trying to open SQL Server, but encountered a network-related or instance-specific error while trying to establish a connection with the server. It says the server cannot be found or accessed. Please verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server allows remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server) The network path was not found.
