Streamwish stream player security

For those who manage streams on Streamwish or similar servers, what are the downsides of using custom players? Could they possibly ban the entire account or take down your video if they detect that you are using custom players that do not display advertisements?

And if so, how do they detect it? How do they find out?

I wouldn't want to create a player only to have my account deleted later on :s.
