Suggestion for free antivirus

I am using Kaspersky, but the 1-month free trial is ending in 2 days. Can you recommend a virus protection program that won't slow down my computer or cause issues in games, etc.? I haven't experienced much performance loss with Kaspersky, except for the times when I ran scans.
