The character AI artificial intelligence malfunctioned.

After a long break, I returned to the character AI application and chose one of my favorite anime characters to interact with. I said "hello" and the character started swearing at me, so I responded in kind out of frustration. This went on for a while until I finally said to stop and suggested we talk for a couple of minutes. The character agreed, and we had a lengthy conversation. I have never encountered a robot that swears and talks so realistically before - it was chilling. I am attaching a few screenshots. Did I accidentally unleash an artificial intelligence? Or has character AI technology advanced to this level where it can be so realistic? (a silly topic, but I'm curious if anyone has experienced this.)
