It is more logical to answer the question "What is SEO?" first. In the common understanding, individuals who perform the process of ranking high on search engines are called SEO managers, if we were to elaborate on the long form of SEO. Most people refer to the task of getting on the first page of Google as SEO, hence the explanation provided. People who do this job are called SEO specialists. Everyone wants to appear on the first page of Google, and everyone believes they can do it. Those who understand the logic of SEO can actually perform this task competently. To properly execute SEO, imagine designing a web page like a supermarket. By considering this thematic logic, you can successfully complete the internal SEO process. Let's give a brief example from a market and then provide information on the basic SEO practices and what should not be done.
1. TAGS - STORE SIGNAGE = H1 HEADING = YOUR WEBSITE NAME OR MOST IMPORTANT KEYWORD (This concept may rarely vary depending on the sector). Other H2 and H3 tags could represent market sections, such as cleaning represented by H2 or H3 followed by a subtag like H4 for "Detergents." By structuring the links on the homepage in this way, you will create a good user experience. It is advisable to make redirects to internal pages without providing too much detail in the main headings.
2. CONTENT AND THEME - Unique content and theme usage are essential. Google appreciates extraordinary actions. While watching a movie in a theater where 1 person suddenly shouts loudly among 1,000 viewers may not be the correct behavior, technically, this is exactly what SEO is about. When writing content, ensure it is fluent, engaging, and produced based on what users want to hear. I recommend against using article bots. Even if you use them, make sure to make modifications because although articles generated by bots may initially impact your ranking positively, significant drops are expected later. Not every bot is the same, but based on our tests so far, the ChapGBT and Hostinger article bots failed.
3. SOCIAL LINKS - Google's role in social media has been lacking recently. Even though social signals used to have an impact, it has been noted that Google has not been fulfilling its role in this regard for the past year. For example, if your website ranks 5th on the first page for car rental, but you use LinkedIn or Medium for algorithm compatibility, this mismatch can cause you to drop significantly in ranking. The reason for this is currently unclear. Two years ago, attacks from Hindustan to Google might be a reason some suggest. My personal opinion is that Google might have implemented this change because everyone was generating backlinks through social media. However, for now, it is best to have a social media presence but not directly link it to your page or create outbound links. Otherwise, you may end up competing more with your social media accounts than your competitors.
4. BACKLINKS - The importance of backlinks is debatable. However, many news sites, hospitals, or organizations do not practice backlinking but still manage to rank on the first page as they naturally transfer the services they provide to their websites. Although this is my personal opinion, links from quality sites certainly have benefits. It is advisable to acquire industry-specific backlinks or create your own private backlink network. Links from .edu, .gov, or forums are more beneficial than forum or news site links. If you do obtain links from forums or news sites, I recommend acquiring banner links.
5. AMP - This feature, like social media, now conflicts with Google. Although Google used to recommend AMP pages, there has been a decline in rankings on WordPress sites after implementing AMP recently. Instead of AMP, it is recommended to focus on speed by using cloud servers or Cloudflare. However, for websites under BTK jurisdiction, AMP is necessary. For iOS browsers, you need to mask the pages.
6. DMCA - Dealing with sites that copy your content without Google reviewing them can be challenging, especially if the site is older than yours or the content they added is dated earlier than yours. Ways to overcome this include having a DMCA PRO membership, though this may seem expensive at around 180 euros. Another method is to use a bot plugin that changes URLs frequently, ranging from 3000 to 7000 in the market. Emre Nogay and the company that developed the Montana plugin are considered reliable in this aspect. Alternatively, creating a single-page site with a solid backlink strategy can be beneficial in highly competitive sectors.
7. DESIGN APPLICATIONS - Any design application is good for SEO if your designer knows what they are doing. However, in terms of ranking, HTML plain sites take precedence. They offer many advantages such as speed and no need for a database. Following HTML, ASPX and PHP rank higher, whereas applications like WordPress rank
