Title 60 characters matter.

Hello everyone. My longest title is 65 characters, which includes the homepage and around 8-10 other pages. The rest are between 50-60 characters. Upon researching, everyone says not to exceed 60 characters. In search results, the last word of my site's homepage title is displayed as "...". I'm not sure if it's crucial to have exactly 60 characters, or is it just a myth?
