Variation Table for Products

Hello friends, I want to add color and size variations to the database where I keep the products. Do you have an example database design for this? Regarding the size part, should I use numerical sizes (32, 34, 36, 38, 40) or letter sizes (S, M, L, XL) for a product? How can I set this up?
