What is ASIO?
ASIO (Audio Stream Input/Output) is a protocol developed by Steinberg that enables digital audio processing with low latency. This protocol serves as an interface between music software and sound cards, allowing for real-time processing.
While Microsoft's DirectSound interface primarily offers stereo input-output solutions for regular users, ASIO caters to the needs of sound engineers and musicians.
