Good morning.
For approximately a year or a little more, I was finishing up my courses in frontend web development.
As I completed them, I was thinking about what my life would be like after that. Finally, I could have a job and be able to travel because of it. However, that never happened.
After finishing the course, I was on freelance sites, LinkedIn, Indeed, ZipJobs, Domestika, GetOnboard, Glassdoor, etc. No matter how many applications I sent out, I never received a call for an interview, except for two companies that turned out to be scams.
I took the course at Platzi. It's worth mentioning that not everything I learned was solely from them; I had to read documentation, watch YouTube videos, read books, use AI when I couldn't find specific help, and more.
Throughout this year (which was supposed to be when I had a job), I have not found anything, neither in-person nor remote. Some companies in Spain showed interest in me on LinkedIn, but I couldn't proceed because I needed to be in Spanish territory.
I have a portfolio with a few projects, around 5 or 6, using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Sass, API consumption, library imports, and a bit more, aiming to follow best practices. I've also been learning about PHP and Web Design in Figma.
I decided to check Computrabajo to see if I could find something, and it was a nightmare (see attached image).
I think I might have strayed from the question, but I wanted to give the context for why I made this post.
How did you manage to land a job as a Frontend Developer?
Thank you for reading, any help will be appreciated.
